overall impact: since the beginning of the year until now we have seen an immense amount of dedication and improvement within our team. we have been able to successfully reach out to a wide variety of students, teachers, and our community through our farmers markets and our tree planting event. we have been able to use our instagram platform, with a following of 145 followers, to reach out to others and have them learn about out projects. we worked with adam perez who helped us reach a wider audience of grown ups by broadcasting it on the today show. our video was the most viewed today show video of the year. we provided a lot of produce to our community.not only have we been able to help out others, but as a team and as INDIVIDUALS in the group we have gained skills that will benefit us in our future endeavors. wE have distributed over 20,000 pounds of produce to community members through our farmers markets. We have grown over 5,000 pounds of produce and have engaged with over 500 students and community members.
REFLECTION: As chicas verdes we are very proud of all the accomplishments we have achieved this year. this year we were able to help our school and community by providing healthy resources and foods right on campus. hosting farmers markets taught us that we can help others with anything that we have, for example, with clothes we don't use anymore and with the fruits and vegetables we were able to grow on our own. we hope to continue these farmers markets because it is great to see our school come together.
